“I doubt it matters where you die, but it matters where you live.” -Gus

So, for those of you who don’t know, that is a quote from the movie Lonesome Dove, which, in my opinion, was the all time best movie ever made. It featured Robert Duvall, who recently passed away. I am deeply saddened by his passing. For years, his picture was the screensaver on my phone, and I have quoted his lines from the movie repeatedly for years.

My mom had won the VHS version of Lonesome Dove from a radio station in the early 90’s. I will never get tired of watching it.

I have lived in quite a few places here and there, and they once declared me dead in Russell, Kansas. I don’t feel like I plan these moves, but circumstances and situations seem to uproot me like a storm does a tree. It’s crazy. Hell, I own a home and a few acres about an hour south of San Antonio, but I haven’t lived there in over three years.

My family seems to think that I just need a man to settle me down, but I think that after having had four husbands, the very last thing I need is a man. I’m quite content, until I’m discontent, and then I change the scenery until it suits me again. I may be a black-hearted gypsy, but I’m honest, and I’d like to think that I leave my mark where I’ve been and that I leave a good memory for some of those folks that I meet along the way.

Currently, I am here, at the Angry Kitty Ranch, trying my best to help my brother and his family, even though the initial idea was that me coming here was to help me. It’s a win/win! Cheers!

And Cheers! in honor of Robert Duval, who was a talented enough actor to keep me in one spot for at least the 6 hour duration of Lonesome Dove…repeatedly….
